Changing of the Guard ID Badges
July 31, 2006

July 2006 is the 100th anniversary of the change in command at the Citadel in Halifax, NS.  The British Army established this historic fort in the mid 1700's.  Almost two hundred years later in 1906, they handed over command to the Canadian Army.

A great deal of time and effort was put into recognising this event by staging a week-long re-enactment, complete with authentic period dress and uniforms.  Almost 1000 enactors travelled from around the world to participate.

One problem.... the Photo-ID system in use at the Citadel couldn't handle the volumes or the quality required.  Davies Enterprises Ltd. was asked to provide two complete Datacard badging systems to create over 1200 badges for staff, volunteers, enactors, media and others on very short notice.  Data driven ID's automatically generated a different colour badge depending on the classification of the subject.  We're proud to say everything went well.
