Do you get a different facility code or site code with every order?  This may be because your supplier is selling you a  pre-programmed generic product from off the shelf.  Davies doesn’t do this – We print and program cards in a variety of formats in our Halifax office, using a heavy duty composite card, much more durable than regular PVC. cards.  Most orders are delivered same or next day.

It sounds crazy, but with a 26 bit format, you can run out of numbers.  The 26 bit format,H10301, has 255 possible facility codes from one to 255. There can be up to 65,535 card ID numbers, from one to 65,535, per facility code.  We can help without adding another facility code.

We also keep track of the card numbers you have purchased from us, helping to prevent duplicates. We have direct relationships with major card manufacturers such as Schlage-Allegion, AWID, HID, Hirsch, ISG and XCeedID.

ID and proximity cards can be duplicated and counterfeited.  Please consider adding additional security to your cards.  Microline printing, UV images, embedded and surface holograms are just a few of the ways you can do this, and we can help, just ask.

Not all proximity cards are the same. Davies Enterprises supplies the full range of low-frequency and high-frequency card technologies, along with the physical formats to match your program.

Low-Frequency (LF) Proximity Technologies (125 kHz)

Traditional proximity cards operate on a low frequency of 125 kHz and transmit a fixed, unencrypted ID number.

  • HID Prox: The most common standard in North America, featuring standard formats like 26-bit Wiegand.
  • Indala: A legacy 125 kHz proximity technology by HID Global offering secure site codes unique to specific vendors.
  • EM4100 / EM Marin: A widely used international low-frequency standard that transmits a basic 64-bit read-only ID.

High-Frequency (HF) Smart Card Technologies (13.56 MHz)

Often grouped with “prox” cards, high-frequency smart cards offer two-way communication, read/write capabilities, and data encryption.

  • MIFARE Classic / MIFARE DESFire: Developed by NXP Semiconductors, these cards support secure authentication and multiple data storage blocks.
  • iCLASS / iCLASS SE: Developed by HID Global, using 13.56 MHz transmission with added smart card security layers.
  • Seos: A high-security 13.56 MHz technology designed for mobile integration and advanced multi-factor access control.

Physical Form Factors

  • Clamshell Cards: Thick, rigid PVC cards designed for high durability rather than visual printing.
  • ISO Thin Cards: Glossy, printable PVC or composite cards that accommodate photo IDs and badges.
  • Key Fobs and Tags: Miniaturized hard-plastic keychain tokens containing the same internal microchip and antenna.
  • Adhesive Discs: Small stick-on RFID tags placed on phones or legacy badges.
